I need some advice please.
I just bought all of the components for a new build (from Overclockers obviously), including the ASRock Z68 Extreme 4, an i5 2500K and a Corsair A50 CPU cooler.
Firstly, I would point out that the specs of the A50 say that it is compatible with the 1155 socket but I can find nothing in the packaging or the instructions to support this claim. However, it IS compatible with LGA775 and seeing that the ASRock mobo has the mounting holes for an LGA775 as well as an 1155, I decided to mount the A50 using the LGA775 bracket.
BUT....
This causes the cooler to be slightly rotated by around 10 degrees so that it no longer sits square on the CPU. It sort-of points towards the corner of the mobo rather than the back.
It's fair to assume that the holes in the mobo are positioned correctly and therefore it must be intentional that an LGA775 cooler would be offset in this way. It just looks wrong.
Should I be worried?
