Got the second fire stone, but now there's a fence stopping me getting to the Zoras in Hyrule field

What's up with that?

Infact, I think they do it for some TV series threads (like Broadwalk Empire).

Following your advice I would have missed out on the Zelda skin, which looks totally kick ass.

The fenced of section is lake hylia to the southwest , the zora,s are north east,

if you want to visit lake hylia just use the ladder on the right on side, i have no idea why so many people think you need epona to access it from hyrule field.

That is true but it does make moving about the place 100 times quicker and easier imo

My pre-order bonus from Play.com came in today, the game still hasn't though, but I got it from Shopto so still managed to get it and order the soundtrack CD

Exactly. The reason I know this is that I had to help my 8 year old with his game a while back. Finished the Water Temple (where else?) for him, then realised that he'd never done the necessary bits in kid mode to get Epona.

The only thing you can't do without Epona is the target range after completing my least favourite part of the game - the Gerudo Fortress. I hate stealth in all its forms.
