6950 problem with drivers

i got a new 6950 today from OCUK and it seems fine until i install drivers and then i get stuff like this

does it appear i have a duff card or just drivers being pants?

the ones from the cd 10.6 and the new ones 11.6 (i think)

try 11.5 as many have had problems with 11.6 , which brand of 6950 is it ?

you tried the drivers from msi ? , link below but remember to pick correct o/s

Yeah i had problems like that with the 11.6.. gone back to 11.5 now..

yeah i did try the ones MSI supplied and yeah using the 64 bit versions downloading 11.5 atm so hoping them are ok but i am unsure

just tried 11.5 and they are the same Oo going to try 11.4 but i am doubting them too

I had something like that after installing a custom cooler on a 9500pro years ago. It did eventually settle down once I turned up the fan speed. Must have been overheating something.

Oo weird i had it running as stock but it did have 2 fans blowing onto it would the extra fans be causing problems?

I suggest you look at the temps it looks like the card is overheating and as a result artifacting.

its brand new its never been tampered with and it has 2 incoming fans blowing air to it and on idle it can sit at 35c (but my 4550 can sit at 45c idle and is ok and thats full of dust and ****) on load i never get a chance to check as it doesn't give me enought time to check will monitor it tomorrow again but i am not holding much hope on it

Sometimes cards aren't put together properly. It could be that someone forgot to fit a thermal pad or improperly fitted the cooler to the core or something silly like that. Without heatsinking the chips would get hot very quickly.

thing that is strange is it is fine if i don't install drivers as it will never do the corruption thing but as soon as i install the drivers it starts tearing and corrupting and in places u can see dodgy pixelating and this is in normal windows idle mode :<
