Galaxy S II durability

Tried to do a bit of research on its durability, but I couldn't find much. I never used to drop phones at all but with my last phone that has changed. This could be psychological (cough, i HOPE), as my last phone was a aluminium unibody htc legend which is pretty much indestructible. Have any of you galaxy s2 owners been unfortunate enough to drop yours? I have to admit that it looks so skinny that if you sat on it it would snap. Anyone happened to sit on it?

Im currently deciding between this phone and the htc sensation. I want to try something new as ive just come from a htc, but if the samsung doesn't have the strength than i'll probably buy the aluminium sensation, although I am definitely swinging towards the galaxy.

Thanks y'all

Because of how light it is and the fact it is a more solid design with high grade plastic, the Sensation creaks a bit and doesn't generally feel as solid. Strange I know.

I've actually done that test with my back cover and it does bend all the way, there's no way you'll snap it unless you really went to town on it.

test: SGSII dropped from hand onto stony concret foot path due to phone owner carrying bags and trying to answer phone.
result: phone still works:p slight chip where impact was. phone bounced twice and case went flying after first impact.

Lol, sorry to hear that, but a chip isn't too bad for stony concrete. Reassuring, thanks.

Off topic, but im currently looking for a joystick. How do you find your x52? I had a saitek yoke but the dead zone travel was awful. Almost an inch of elevator input with zero effect.

X52 is ok you can extend the dead zone if needs be.

I dropped my SGS2 phone down the cliff face of the Wrekin on Friday :(

The case smashed and fell off and the phone was left with a small dent to the bottom of the outer bezel. I was shocked it still worked TBH. I have to get a new case now but pleased thats all i need :)

I hit mine full force with a 16lb sledge then turned a flamethrower on it for five minutes, and there was hardly a scratch on it!*

This phone sounds ridiculously durable for its size, to be honest. Will be purchasing when I get back from amsterdam next week  Shame The only carrier I get signal with is o2, limits my options slightly but not to worry :)

My sisters been through 2 SGS2's, both through durability type problems. I got one on a contract and within a week it was back as the button for the home screen stopped working.

May be unlucky as reviews say otherwise, but just to make you aware.
