Up here in Scotland celebrations and moments of remembrance have been happening all week all across the country in honour of the Armed Forces.
I would just like to take this moment if you can tip your glass in two separate toasts to the personal involved.
First toast to all the individuals that have lost their lives so we can keep ours.
Second toast is in congratulations to a job well done and keep up the amazing and hard work they all do.

I currently don't have any plans myself to visit any of the parades and the festival in Holyrood Park, but over the past week I've put in my hours to help make this event possible through my work. I've also had 9months of extreme worry as my brother toured Afghanistan and hold my heart out to all families that have to go through the same experience.

ITS BLOODY ACE!!

Half an hour ago two spitfires and lancaster roared over head at a few hundred feet.

Woot woot! They be loud :D

Saw the red arrows darting around above Leith last night as well.

Yeah, saw the red arrows in bits (was rushing in and out of the warehouse for last minute kit). Also saw the helicopter that's parked in Holyrood land during the day and was working on site when all the large Force Protection vehicles were driven on, such as the Mastiff 3.
Breath taken at the engineering involved in them.

A thought and a prayer for those that have given their lives. A big thumbs up and good luck to all that are serving. :)

Celebrate the Armed Forces by making them work on a weekend, I'm sure they'll appreciate it :D

I would like to spare a thought and a moment to remember my friend and collegue Ben who lost his life in Iraq saving others lives, mine included. He was a true Hero in all senses of the word.

We will be attending a few things over the weekend at Tidworth and down in Portsmouth. It will be good to see a few old friends.

For anyone up this neck of the woods, Moray area, the red arrows are doing a fly by past Lossiemouth beach at 3. Should make for some very nice pictures, will try to get some up for anyone intrested.

Sorry to hear that Castiel, all respect to him and all that served with him.

Ah, in Germany at the moment, so can't make anything unfortunately. RIP to all those that have lost their lives serving the country. And good luck to all the lads out there at the moment. Just doing a few more courses, then I'll be joining you :).

Watching them now

Saw glimpses of red arrows yesterday, heard jets outside today, did run out but missed. :(
Did see the 2 spitfires yesterday also, with my lack of knowledge they were with a larger plane, that I assumed was some sort of bomber... Someone here has mentioned a lancaster, that'll do for me! :D

Had never heard a spitfire flying before, sheer awesomeness.

It was definately the bbmf lancaster and two spits. Used to study them all the time in the air corp never heard one before though. :D

There is supposed to be a flypast at 18:30 with 3 typhoons and 3 tornados ;)

\o/

Nothing special going on at my workplace today, just another ordinary day.

Thinking of my great uncle Aiden, who flew out over europe manning the tail gun of a Lancaster and never came back.
