Kingston HyperX Blu 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (KHX1600C9AD3B1K2/4G) I have inserted into my pc,but not to sure about changing any settings...when using CPUZ it shows up as:
TYPE DDR3,
Channels# Dual. Size 4096 MBytes.
DC Mode Symmetric.
Timmings DRAM Frequency 533.4MHz.
FSB:DRAM 1:2.
CAS# Latency (CL) 7.0 clocks.
RAS# to CAS# Delay (tRCD) 7 clocks.
RAS# Precharge (tRP) 7 clocks.
Cycle Time (tRAS) 20 clocks.
Row Refresh Cycle Time (tRFC) 60 clocks.
Command Rate (CR) 2T.
In my USER MANUAL :-
Product Specifications _ Memory DDR3. 2 x 1.5V DDR3 DIMM sockets supporting upto 4 GB of system memory. Dual channel memory architecture. Support for DDR3 1600/13331066/800 MHz memory modules...My MB is a Gigabyte EP45C-DS3R..are there any changes i can make to improve performance..P.S I'm not a PC expect.

Welcome to the forum.

The RAM is only running at 1066MHz (2x533) instead of 1600MHz.

You'll need to delve into the BIOS and see if you can change the memory divider to give you 1600MHZ.

You would also need to change the timings from 7-7-7-20 to 9-9-9-27 for 1600MHz.

Thanks for this but, i'm not to sure what to look for as i'm not to Tech
minded

Download CPU-Z if you haven't already.

Click on the SPD tab and look if there's an XMP profile.

If there is what settings are listed?

You don't have an XMP profile so the only way to increase the RAM speed is to get down and dirty in the BIOS.

As a none tech. minded person you'll have to decide whether or not you want to start messing around in the BIOS.

If you do I'll have a look and see if I can find what settings you need to change.

I would be gratfull, just seems a bit point less getting something that can perform and being able to get that performance. If you need any other info about my pc spec let me know.
Thanks

Go into the BIOS.

Go to MB Intellegent Tweaker.

Make the changes shown in red in the picture below.

Save the changes and exit.

Check the memory tab in CPU-Z and hopefully it says 800MHz.

If it only says 400MHz change Memory Frequency in the BIOS to 1600MHz.

i cannot change to manual on SYSTEM MEMORY MULTIPLIER i get these choices...also i do not have the option to change Memory Frequency (MHz) to anything.

sorry if i'm not grasping it but i did warn you i was not that pc tech minded.lol

What's the highest multiplier there is?

I don't know what the A's, B's and D's mean.

For example what difference does 4.00A make over 4.00D?

Try all the different multipliers until you get the highest speed in CPU-Z.

Ideally you want to get to 800 MHz which is doubled to 1600MHz.

If there isn't a multiplier high enough for 800MHz then you would have to start overclocking the FSB.

Make a note of the result each multiplier gives as you may need this for future reference.

Edit

Changing the (G)MCH Frequency Latch to 400MHz may give you the speed you need but I don't know what effect this has on anything else.

I have tried all those settings and my pc just ends up switch on & off,so remove the ram reboot then reinstall the ram then pc is back to normal...it is baffling me.only the 3.00A & 4.00A keep the pc stable.i'm having a break from it doing my head in. Thank you for all your help today..
