Would one fit in the back of a VW Passat?

Is this for a mobile BBQ or a driving grill? How would you stop the smoke filling up the interior or would you fit a sort of flue/chimney thing?

Well, I was thinking of chopping it in two and hinging the two parts together. That way I'll be able to close it and smoke the food, or open it and grill it

Sorry I misunderstood. I thought you were going to install the BBQ in the boot or back of the car so you could drive somewhere then open up and start cooking.

I might be wrong (probably are wrong) but isn't it better not to use an oil drum?

I remember reading a few work logs and everyone seems to be using drums from the food industry. Corn Syrup and the like.

If there's any oil residue left it will burn off anyway, its just a bit of metal to hold the charcoal at the end of the day.

dont know about fiiting in a car.
but dont cut it in half, cut 1/4 off, that way its easier to lift the lid up and down.

It'll fit, if the back seats go down. They are pretty much identical sizes. Can also give you a lot of suggestions later.

As above don't go 50/50 cut a hatch in the top and make a proper BBQ smoker than a burning grill, you won't regret it
