Dancing in clubs

Lol mayhem rings a bell Nix!

PMkeates they did have a Michael Jackson impersonator on though! Not all bad. Hah.

There are some bars that do dubstep nights around here Shayper that are usually better than a normal night. I can only manage one night of that a month though tbh. I get fed up with it really quickly!

Went to "the brush" the other week. Music and attitude was good, but the place was such a dive!

That pretty much sums it up!

I was dragged to one of the "super" clubs in London. One of those overpriced mounds of elephant crap. It was exactly what the OP described. Wall to wall full of posers drenched in cologne giving everyone the hard look.

I will never ever ever set foot in a club in this country again.
 
The Brush sucks scenester's willy.

PardonTheWait will disagree with me, but I've not once ever come away from the Brush feeling like I've enjoyed myself. The venue is a massive dive as you said, and although people aren't punching each other, I wouldn't say it's any better.

Mayhem is the one around the side from Natwest, just off the High Street to the left (walking towards the sea). It's a dead-end, so no traffic. It's next to a Varsity.

Element is near the Royals, going off the High Street to the right and on a busy-ish road.

Talk is down Lucy Road, opposite a big carpark just behind the arcades on the seafront.

Southend is pretty rubbish for nights out milgo.

I looked at your location and the first thing that popped into my head was you've had the Dukes experience :p

That aside, sorry to hear someone spoiled your night out. Had it happen to me once or twice and I still don't understand why people are like this :(

~>Dg<~ I'm not really sure how you mean that. If you are saying I typed it to sound impressive I didn't mean it that way. I just thought it was quite funny. I'm no tough guy, but these guys thought they were. This was my first fight ever. All I have is a fat lip, funny looking ear and a tiny cut on my head so they were hardly monsters.

I think i punched my friend in the face as well in the confusion, lol.

avoid loughton OP, usually fights break out there.

Sugar Hut in Brentwood is ok, but it's a bit pricey and everyone in there seems very into themselves.

195 in Epping is ok, only been a couple of times but never seen a fight in there. But likewise I have heard of fights breaking out in there and you can get some bell ends arriving from the Loughton area.

I'd say head into London if you can. Chelmsford should take you direct to Liverpool Street if I'm not mistaken and the clubs in central are usually packed full of foreigners just looking for a good time mixed in with greater London residents. I find you get less douche bags there.

The problem with London though, is the last train back is around 2am. Not exactly ideal.

When I go out with my friends we are always just looking to have a good time and a good dance. Yes I'm sure the moves look terrible, but its just great to let loose. We are never too drunk and are always apologise if we bump someone.

Friday night it was just three of us, it was about 2am and there was some good space on the dance floor so we were using it up and making the most of it. A bunch of 6 or so guys were standing there laughing at us. We just carried on, then they started dancing through us and body checking us. We still carried on thinking they would get bored. Anyway to cut a long story short they ended up grabbing my friends and it erupted into a full blown fight. When I jumped in to get between them they all turned on me and punched my glasses off my face. After a little while I was looking for my glasses on the floor and this guy ran up and kicked me in the face. All of this over what?

Luckily we completely over powered them and they all ran off.

I was out again last night with a different group and again lots of dirty looks and comments from guys standing like planks, bobbing their heads as they looked for the next group of girls to harass.

Can't people just go out and not worry about what anyone else is doing? I personally like seeing other people having fun and would really rather not have this heavy aggressive atmosphere.

Go to a gay club, problem solved
 
Just go to good clubs with decent DJs on and reasonable priced drinks, the ***** wont go there because the drink is too expensive, everyone else will be too happy due to numerous drugs.
It's win/win. (Apart from expensive drinks)
 
That why i'mm a DJ and not a dancer lol,beer monsters dancing in clubs should be picked like a toy in one of those game machine with a claw lol and thown in the rubbish ;)

If that isn't a joke, then :rolleyes:.

Any time I've been to a gay club for an evening, the most unruly (and on one occasion borderline debauched) activity that I've seen has always been from straight couples.

As Krooton says, you get very little hassle from the gay blokes and if you do, a simple "Sorry mate, I'm straight" is enough.
