best thermal compound for a laptop

I know this is far from extreme/exciting cooling, but my laptop is getting way to hot for my liking. (pushes into the 90s when under minor general browsing/videos  and 60s at idle)

My plan is to take it apart, very good clean and new thermal compound.
But what is the best compound for cooling? is it as simple as the most expensive?

I have also noticed that the cooler fan for the cpu seems to take air in from under the keyboard, yet there is no vents in the keyboard backing so i would think this restricts air flow. Anyone with experience of this, should this be like this and could i drill a few careful holes to assist air flow?

The laptop is a HP 6735s (Athlon x2, 2.10mhz) from what i read on the net this laptop has a habit of these temps as they get older.

Thanks

Can't go wrong with MX4, its a very good, just put a small pea sized blob in the middle of your CPU. Then tighting your heatsink down the corect way, job sorted. ;)

Hi All, Thanks for the advice.

What is an air duster?, from what i have seen before the laptop looks clean inside (i have took it apart before), but will ensure it is spotlessly clean this time.

OCuk dont have MX4 in stock, is the Ic Diamond 7 carat any good? (it sounds good, but is it?)

Thanks again

Yeah IC Diamond is also one of the top thermal compound along with MX-4

Hi again, a air duster is just a can of compressed air, which will blow out the dust in every nook and cranny, but first get a small 2" paint brush and give the motherbroad, etc, agood going over this helps to losen any stubbern dust and them blast the whole lot off with the air buster, job done. :)
