I know this is far from extreme/exciting cooling, but my laptop is getting way to hot for my liking. (pushes into the 90s when under minor general browsing/videos
and 60s at idle)
My plan is to take it apart, very good clean and new thermal compound.
But what is the best compound for cooling? is it as simple as the most expensive?
I have also noticed that the cooler fan for the cpu seems to take air in from under the keyboard, yet there is no vents in the keyboard backing so i would think this restricts air flow. Anyone with experience of this, should this be like this and could i drill a few careful holes to assist air flow?
The laptop is a HP 6735s (Athlon x2, 2.10mhz) from what i read on the net this laptop has a habit of these temps as they get older.
Thanks
