PSU advice for FSX build...

Ah, if you are planning to spend that much then I would suggest you just buy a GTX 560 or go for a cheaper option. You can get a GTX 460 1GB with a 725MHz core clock and a decent cooler for £110 here - so I wouldn't spend £45 more to get the SC or SSC EVGA version.

how do you know its a quiet cooler?

im gunna ask on FSX forums about the GPU issue... if a 560 is only under about 30% load on FSX does this mean I can drop down to a lesser 460 and save money and get the same performance...?

sorry to go of topic a minute...well the thread is about PSU anyway hehe
back to GPU in a minute

just reading on XFX 550watt Core Edition and JohnnyGuru said its got a wonky 12v regulator? - he has been critiscised for it and retested them under kitguru's configs and got same results as him (more normal regulation)

should this stop me from buying it? - looking at the results I think it would be ok as I dont think the system will draw that much power anyway

other than that it seems to get good reviews

here is JohnnyGuru's retest

No PSU is perfect, theres always something picked up on in reviews about any product.

Don't let it stop you as the end score is still positive.

Whoever said he had to upgrade to a 750W PSU must have been using cheap junk that doesn't put out the wattage it label says it does.
