New car, do I need to Sorn it.

Right I got myself a bit newer car, as the other one on it last leg's. But I don't plan on using it until I've had all the Timing belt's, oil etc etc. done. So it going to be sat on the drive for about a month. Until i've got the money to do the work. Now I heard you can't keep a un-insured car sat on the drive if it's got vaild road tax ( 3 month's left ). Now if I use the on-line sorn thing, with I end up getting a cheque in the post. Or will it end up going to the old owner's as i've only had it since Sunday ?

You will have to sorn it but you won't have the refernece number yet (on the V5) surely? unless I am getting confused.

Either way it will have to be sorned if not insured.

I've got the V5C/2 new keeper's part. That as a Doc Ref no.

V5 will take about 3 month's knowing the local post office. :rolleyes:

Yeah thats ok then. Just use that reference number online and it will get sorned their and then. You will have to refund your tax seperatly.

Can't do it with the V5C/2. think it can be done in post office tho. might have to seek out of work as it only a 5 min walk away.
