Length of an MSI ATI Radeon HD 6870

Hi,

I was just trying to confirm whether or not an MSI ATI Radeon HD 6870 would fit okay inside a Fractal Design Define R3 case.

The Fractal Design website tells me that the case can support a graphics card that is approximately 290mm long, but unfortunately I don't know how long the ATI cards are (e.g. stock number: GX-126-MS). I checked the ATI website, it doesn't seem to list any dimensions.

Does anyone have any experience with these cards or happen to know whether this one would fit please?

Hi and welcome to the forum.

Standard 6870's are a little shorter than 10" or 250mm.

The MSI Hawk is 255 x 115 x 38mm according to the MSI website.

Doh. Of course, MSI is the manufacturer, they are most likely to have that kind of information. Sorry, I should have thought of that.

So it seems that with a 35mm gap there wont be too much wiggle room, but it should be okay I think...

Ironically the MSI website seems to be broken at the moment, I'll check it tomorrow.

That's lots of space. I have a 6950 in an Antec 300 an there's no more than 5mms breathing space.
