How often do we encounter famous people without knowing it across the faceless world of the net.

The vast majority of famous people are still ordinary folk like ourselves. They have interests just like us.

I wonder how many of them are active members on forums? Some must be interested in computers, sport, gardening, cars or the like. All thriving forum subjects.

Online gaming as well. It's well known Rooney is a FIFA addict. A friend of my brothers even played Mayweather on Fight Night Round 3.

I bet we encounter a great many of them without realising it.

Yeah, fair do's, I know what you're saying. But it would be interesting to me to know. Maybe i'm just odd, but I try to picture everyone I talk to on the net. makes it more personable.

You lot ain't coming out too well though i'm afraid.

My niece was on Facebook the other day and said she'd be chatting to some celebrity called Craig Thomson, he sent her photos and everything.

There was a dude on here a while back who was going out with Jodie Kidd, she used to play CS and was pretty **** hot at it apparently.

Really though, i've talked to Billy Bragg on quite a few occasions. But then he doesn't use a handle. Other than that, i don't really care. I suppose they'll enjoy being treated as an equal for once.

I've ran into loads of famous people on the tube and not once i said anything.

Back in April I sat opposite Nell McAndrew on the tube, I thought she looked familiar but it didn't click for about a minute.

I'd imagine the anonymity of the internet is quite nice for the very famous, but it's something I think about from time to time.

Is Karl Pilkington a member here or is that just a joke name/photo?
