Britain's biggest BBQ and Grill festival enters it's second year.

http://grillstock.co.uk/

I went to this last year and really enjoyed it. This year it's bigger and better

From the site:

Grillstock is the UK’s biggest BBQ and Music Festival taking place in Bristol’s Harbourside on 2nd and 3rd July.
On the menu is the phenomenal ‘King of the Grill’ US-style barbecue competition, live Cajun, Blues and Country music from bands including the ‘twisted swamp rock act’ Haysed Dixie, a fiery chilli eating competition and street circus, cabaret and magic from the Invisible Circus.

Advance tickets are £6.50 per day or £10 for a weekend pass and children under 16 are free.

The selection of local ales last year was ace. Can't wait to sample the local fayre again :)

See ya there ! :D

I think I'm in Bristol on the Saturday for St. Pauls carnival... may need to go check this out!

Is the BBQ food tasting free with cost of admission/can you buy large amounts of BBQ food? :)

Last year you watched the competitors cooking for each of the rounds and after they were judged they gave out free samples. Also, there were BBQ demo's of recipes from the likes of Dr BBQ and you could sample there too.

You can buy loads of stuff there from simple BBQ spices to massive Big Green Egg BBQ's and smokers.

We bought a decorative Bio-ethanol heater there last year :)

You can buy tickets on the door. However it is cheaper to buy in advance if you deffo want to go :)

Dr Sweetsmoke's Chicken on a Bike is absolutely superb. Watching the genius cooks in action is brilliant too, I got loads of tips that I took into the BBQ season :)

After missing it last year, it's been in my calendar for about 6months. But alas going to bloody miss it again. I'll be in London :(

I'll be there on the Sat! I'm quite looking forward to the chilli eating contest, mainly to watch the lads that think they're tough as they had a vindaloo once. ;)

It was one of the highlights for me last year. The pain in people's eyes was hilarious as was the cry for water as the "burn" set in ;)

I know the organisers now. They plan on being there and growing it year upon year. Make sure you get it in the diary asap for next year as soon as the dates are set. it's usually late june/ early july
