Just noticed, when using the microwave, sometimes it disconnects me from the internet.

Why is this. Same frequency or something?

Anything you can do about this?

How bizarre. Always wondered what it was,

Same frequency so basically the interference from the high power microwave source makes it hard for your device to pick up the signal. Bit mental that they used to same frequency really.

Going to a different radio channel might help but probably wont be enough.

5Ghz N Wireless would be the best solution to alleviate the interference but for occasional disconnects is it relly worth it?

We had a customer at work who said that whenever his wife turned on her new hearing aid, his internet would stop working. After he left, we fell about laughing. Maybe he was right.:(

He might well have been right, eveything is using 2.4Ghz these days as there aren't that many frequencies free to use and technology using it is cheap to utilise and manufacture.

Wiki said:
A microwave oven works by passing non-ionizing microwave radiation, usually at a frequency of 2.45 gigahertz (GHz)—a wavelength of 122 millimetres (4.80 in)—through the food.

Wiki again said:
ReSound wireless hearing aids operate on 2.4 GHz, a widely used and globally accepted frequency band that is used by most cordless phones, video game consoles, home wireless networks, garage door openers and many other common everyday wireless items

I suppose the user has the speaker in their ear and remotely connects to a device they carry on their person, rather than having a huge thing stuck in their ear.

Still doesn't help the OP.

Maybe wrap your microwave in foil? That'll help I'm sure.

Move the microwave? Change wireless channel. Both of these can help, but I'm guessing changing channel is better...

Cant find anywhere to plug LAN cable into microwave? would it be on the inside?

its only accessible while in use, so trick the microwave into letting you open it while its still on, most likely have to stick your head right in there to see it though.

***pls dont actually do this****

LAN cable instead of using crappy WiFi...

Do you actually lose internet SYNC?

Is it just disconnecting your home network?

It doesnt bother me. Just noticed it a couple of times. Just curious if others got it too.

I cannot find anywhere to plug LAN cable into microwave. Wonder if one of the 'programs' on the microwave is for wireless set up.

So it doesn't disconnect your internet?? Just your home network.

LAN cable into microwave?? Dont get it... are you trying to be funny?

Using a LAN cable instead of wireless would fix the problem since it isn't actually your internet disconnecting.

I'd be worry about a dodgy microwave tbh :(

Picture made me laugh tho:D

Microwave should not cause those kind of issues - maybe loss of sync if the router was right next to it but even that shouldn't really happen. It definitely shouldn't do anything other than the odd re-sent packet on wireless tops. You might want to think about replacing it if that kinda level of EM is leaking.
