These guys are offering the Sensation on a £35 a month Vodafone contract with 7 months line free via redemption.

This is potentially cashback of £245, which is a very good deal. I'm aware that with these redemption schemes they rely on you not submitting in time, but provided you do send the bill off immediatly, it seems you get paid.

The one thing I cannot find anywhere on the site is the timetable for the redemption. When and how much do you get paid?

They post you a cheque back, I usually got mine within 30 days or so.

I know they post you a cheque- the question is when. You have to claim at set periods throughout the contract but nowhere is it listed when these set periods are.

Obviously the deal is less tempting if you only get cashback at month 24, for example.

My wife has a contract with them. They used to be difficult (not impossible) to get money but recently very good with on line submission of bill working. Last 2 payments have been quick. There owned by cpw so should be safe.

There is a good thread on Money saving forums about them (and others) and how to make sure you get paid.

They're pretty good I've found, there was a 60 day window for me to send off my bill for claiming cashback, I sent the bill via email asap and received a cheque about 2 weeks later.

Past 2 years i've been using a cashback thing from them. I think it was every 3 months, sent the bill off within a 2 week period and got sent a cheque back. Was just on the phone to them a minute ago as they are trying to offer me various renewals on the contract but i barely use my phone anymore so not going for something similar again.

Awesome, cheers guys.

So £50 back at month 6, 9, 12, 18 and 24.

Reckon this is the best possible Sensation deal?

Works out at an effective cost per month of £22.70 after the cashback and the £50 Quidco cashback.

Assuming Vodafone is a good provider choice for you in terms of signal etc, i can't see any other offer beating it.

Good thing about vodafone is, even if you have crap signal in your house, you can just buy a sure signal to sort it out.

I've already got a SureSignal from the last time I was with them - this is a key appeal if I'm honest.

Only 500mb of data, though :(

If you're at home surely you will use wi-fi anyway?

I haven't come across the SureSignal before. What impact does it have on your latency/ping in games?

Also check out TopCashback in case their rates differ. They did when I got £102 off an iPhone 4 earlier this year.

No more than any other download running on your connection.

When it's idle, it uses pretty much no bandwidth, when a phonecall is running it uses something silly like 0.5meg and again has no effect on my ping on a 13 meg connection.

Basically if you've got anything over 2 meg, it won't eat up all of your bandwidth even if all 4 of the possible phonecall connections are being used at once.

I wish i still had mine, i got one for £25 on offer but gave it to my parents as their signal issues were far worse than mine. Now it's back up at £50 and i'm too cheap :(

500mb of data is doing me fine tbh. I just make sure i set all of my apps to only update over Wifi and don't tether unless i have to. I use the net all day at work as the wireless is incredibly locked down (i work in a school) and, for example, my cap 'resets' on the 4th of next month and i've only used 17% of my monthly allowance so far. 3G watchdog is excellent for keeping tabs on your usage should the worst happen.

How good is the sensation's FM radio? The main reason my net usage isn't too huge is because i no longer use internet streaming over 3G, i just use the built in radio on my phone. You also have the added advantage over me of the new Sense UI allowing you to pre-download maps on google maps (or something to that effect), so wouldn't need much data even when using satnav.

In a slightly different tone - how do you guys cope in terms of wear and tear on 24 month contracts?
I'm 18 months into my (for sure last one ever) 24 month contract and I find the last two contracts were nearly impossible to get through hardware wise. Not just the usual dust and loose panels either. The excessive use of net vs relatively short battery lifespan of today's smartphones in my case translates to a lot of charging cycles and the original batteries just live way too short to sustain 24 month contract. My current phone (Motorola Droid) got to the point it barely survives 12 hour days and with data and GPS switched on it actually has negative battery life when plugged into car charger (as in - energy drops faster than battery can accept charge using 12V charger). Now - good aftermarket batteries are rare breed, and with manufacturing cycles changing every 6 months or so I now can't find original manufacturer branded battery for less than crazy boutique prices. I was kind of wondering if this is common, or am I just unlucky with my smartphones?

My phone(LG kc910i) is still in virtually perfect nick after 2 years. Bit of dust around the speaker and front buttons, the silver coating has scratched off the camera button and ive got 3 barely visible scratches on the screen, all 3 which happened when i dropped it while drunk :( Battery lasts around 3 days still from a full charge.

The only problem i have is the mic is dodgy meaning i have to speak quite loud for people to hear me in calls. Always been like that from day 1 though never bothered to fix it as i hardly use for calls.

Can't really comment on your redemption side as I didn't get any, but regarding the company as a whole I found them brilliant, got a SGS2 on contract, had a fault within the first 2 weeks, picked up the phone and recieved a new one 2 days later. To deal with on the phone I found them brilliant, couldn't recommend them enough.
