Ok Peerzy has entered the bidding who i have got a soft spot for, i suggested he kept what hes got but he seems determined.

Both of you have a think over night, on my daughters life the car is perfect as far as i know, your both welcome to take it to get it checked or ring ADG who will tell you when it was last in 2 months ago i did everything that needed doing.

I warranty the car for 6 months myself if it goes to **** i will pay for the repairs, my warranty is worth more than gold.

Cost him 3k to insure it at 21 but what a car, you tell me is that not the right car for a young man about town you tell me

I have had that feeling although a year younger with a 'OMG it was on fast and furious so he MUST be racing everywhere' tax slapped on

Nice car tho DM, bet the noise is immense.

Off topic: josh which engine do you have in your soarer, 1jz?

You know why i like you, its cos you aint took ya dads money, thats worth a lot these days son.

It would be quite a jump from a Vauxhall to a Maserati !!! I mean he already said it cost him something like £6k in the last year for his Monaro...as nice as that car is, it will never be a Maserati. Unless it holds some sentimental value, i'd upgrade!

Its the subtle difference, this is a Ferrari in a decent suit, a nice suit, a subtle suit.

It'll be an upgrade in handling and refinement. Power and speed (in a line) are pretty equal.

4200's are known to be twitchy on the limit and the suspension is pretty firm. So I wouldn't be too sure on those points.

However sound and sense of occasion...:D

Engine sound? Built quality? and dare I say it, Italian supercar vs everyman's family wagon :p

I know it is not but you know what i mean. The badge actually mean and worth something in this case.

1JZ, BPU'd, will hit boost cut on cold nights so I'll guestimate a conservative 320bhp+. I'm not saying it'd take the masser but it wouldn't look too sad. M3s and Caymans ain't been able to shake me off yet.

Wait until I get some money to go manual and single. Two words. GAME OVER.

Engine sound, debatable as I love the sound of a pushrod V8 with straight pipes.

However build quality I've heard mixed reports on them. Yes materials are better but I've heard they are pretty unreliable. However this is just a car for a year and I doubt I'd lose a dime on it in 12 months. So not really an issue plus it won't be a main car.

Where's my reply!? ;)

Princy - won't this cost much more than the Monaro and didn't you look at selling that. The sound of that engine is worth it though.

1jz = epic win. Making good power there man. Hoping to TT swap mine at some point and try get around the 320-350 figure

No, fuel is the same and insurance is pretty much the same. Tyres are the same. Servicing is higher but at £1000 a pop once a year is hardly bank breaking. It's unexpecting repairs that daunts me but DM will cover that for 6 months. To be fair I doubt I'd have any issues at all running it but I gotta think a little more on it. Read up some more.

Do yourself a MEGA favour. Slap a turbo on the GE or go full fat 2JZGTE. If you end up working with a 1JZ you'll always, ALWAYS be thinking about and missing that extra 500cc of the 2J. The 1JZ is an awesome engine, really revvy but it doesn't suit these sort of cars.

Seriously, I sodding love my car for reasons I don't quite understand, but I'd chop it in for an Aristo with a full fat 2J at the drop of a hat. 2JZGTE has got my vote for the best engine ever created. Behind concorde, the SR-71 blackbird, space shuttle and E Type Jag its about the most perfect thing man has created :)

This one has got the sky hook suspension, you got to go some to get the back end out.

Quality of build, well its better than vauxhall, its probably not as good as Porsche.

E mails im on the lap top i think its not working, let me give it a dig ......

Try again now stupid thing
