Did anyone else buy TDU2 off steam in the sales?

Have you managed to activate it and play yet?

I bought it last night, left the 14GB download on overnight, just tried to play and the securerom won't work, says the key is invalid. I've checked the steam forums and a few other people have the same problem.

All the google links I can find point to the TDU2 forums...which are down.

I'm having a mini-rage right now  :D

Same problem here, downloaded the game this morning and the forums are down. Awesome!

The TDU2 updater is also crap, I have to keep closing it and starting it up again.

Haha, they reduced the main price by a fiver but then upped the sale price by £2.50 to compensate. Tut.

Glad a few others are having the same problems here...no offence ;)

Will wait for the site/forums to come back up and see if it works then, if not, will be contacting steam.

Having loads of issues even when the site was up last night. Game patched and came up with a critical error, said restart if it happens again re install!

Damn thing :(

Brilliant. Well played. Also it's now at £7.49 although I brought it last night at £4.99?!?!!

Looks like they changed the offer from 75% off to 50% off. I got it a while ago when it was £10. Done all the offline stuff and cba with the online really. Got to do the photographs but that was annoying on the PS3.

I treated it more as a virtual travel guide. :p Doubt I'll ever get to Hawaii on holiday so it was great just being able to drive around and see the beautiful scenery.

How is this game for realism? Do the cars handle as best as they could for an arcade game and is it any good with a G25?

Also can you use the clutch?

Actually just watched a video. It looks like a joke.

The driving model is a bit um lol... it tries to be a hybrid between arcade and realism and doesn't pull off either... on keyboard its pretty tedious to drive to the point I'd say unplayable, on a decent wheel tho acceleration and steering is fairly acceptable.

It "apparently" works with clutch but my wheel has sequential shifting without clutch so never tested it. Sequential shifting in the game is pretty slow and clunky to so I drive on auto.

Braking is a little odd - some cars are a bit better than others but unlike acceleration which has a fairly decent granularity to it, braking tends to be either full on or full off with very little granularity which makes slowing down a bit of a chore til your used to it.

It is good for cruising but the social aspects UI wise are pretty badly implemented, the racing career uninspiring with a lot of copy and paste races/scenarios and the discovery stuff pretty naff to.

Its worth the money tho just for some of the roads on Hawaii.

I dunno I'd say especially at the sale price its worth it just for the drive over Kolekole pass, that said if your looking for a semi decent racer, look away lol.

I want a Gran Turismo (specifically 4) for the PC with Forza sounds and Live For Speed handling :(

Is that too much to ask for!!??

heh... the sounds are fairly lol worthy too - some are nice like the GT-R has a satisfying howl when you let it out thats quite close to the real car, whereas the Audi R8 that IRL has quite a deep growl sounds more like a diesel in game lol. Its one game that does work quite well with Dolby Headphone tho to produce a more immersive sound environment.

You might find hardcore handling mode works for you - personally I consider it too glitchy with most cars.
