hi,
after being told to clear cmos to try and get my bios up after puting a new motherboard in i now have a black screen.

my motherboard has a dr.debug on it and its coming up with a 0E error message and acording to the manual its a 0x0E - microcode not found.

anyone know what to do or have i just completely messed the motherboard up ??

cheers

Is the pc spec the one in your sig?

Was the motherboard working before you cleared the CMOS?

Might sound a bit daft, have you tried doing the clear CMOS again and which way did you use - removing the battery or the clear CMOS jumper.

na i havnt tryed again , a little scared that it mess up even worse . but it might be worth trying it .

also i have a clr cmos button on the mobo that i pressed . i only pressed if for a spit second if thats right ?

Your doing it correctly, try a little longer ie a good 5 seconds.

You wont make it any worse!

Could it be that your BIOS is missing or corrupt (microcode not found)?

If so, Asus have some facility to flash the BIOS from USB stick in the event of corruption. Do AsRock have the same facility?

have you tried removing the ram and trying a stick at a time. removing cmos battery (and mains lead) for 5-10mins. not sure how asrock restore the bios from the second bios.

cheers paradisiac , removing the ram sorted it out . all i need to do now is get my hands on a old ps/2 keyboard as my wireless one seems to of stopped working in POST so im unable to access bios still.

and again cheers for everyones help , would have given up a long time ago and sent to a pc reapir shop by now if it want for you guys.

yeh resetting the bios would have disable legacy usb support probably. always good to have a ps2 one for this instance :)

glad you got it sorted without too much distress. bet your were worried for a bit though.

bet you have a nice big smile now :p
did you do anything other than remove the ram? seems odd it caused this (unless pc went to sleep or hibernated).

try remove the mobo battery for a few minutes.
If there is jumper to clearn the Bios or NVRAM, please do so again.
reseat the CPU, GPU(if dedicated) and the Power connectors and cables to the mobo including the HDD data cable.

Hope this helps!
