Why do OCUK not stock these?
They look like a top notch board and are rated best for likes of z68 is it?
I like the look of the Asrock x58 Extreme 3 or 6, any one know where to get the 6 as cant see them anywhere?

They look top as they also have a 2 slot gap between the pci-e x16 slots so real good for keeping the 2x x16 and better for cooling.

All the other boards although stating made for SLI have the slots to close together and/or have 1x x16 2x x8 etc, any other comments on this are greatly appreciated :)

Thanks Surveyor, and yes I am looking to replace the board that i have now, as its the UD3R rev.1, so basically its past it.

I have just got 2x MSI GTX 460 Hawk's and they are almost touching on the board I have now, I was also thinking about getting a board that would allow me to fit the Hawk's with a couple of these...... fitted maybe, not sure they will fit but it would be good as the Hawk's are extremely noisy when playing games, very quiet when browsing etc though.

I was not mentioning any names of other sites, just that it would be good if OCUK would stock some more items, like the Asrock Extreme 6, and especially the MSI Big Bang board for the x58 chip

If i could sell my 920 and ud3r I would have enough to go towards the SandyBridge, but with current finances, I can only afford to replace the board, although with a decent board i believe my setup will tackle everything I need it to for now.

Looking at reviews of the Thermalright Shaman Graphics Card Cooler it makes your graphics card at least 3 slots wide so it would be very poor for SLI even if you could get 2 in together.

hmmm, would be great if i could, as the Hawk's are really loud, any ideas on that?

What would people advise as to motherboard under £200 that would give me this option?
The MSI BigBang comes to mind, but would limit me to x8 SLI not too big a sacrofice when looking at most boards and seeing they are mostly the same.

The board i use, (albeit a first gen x58 board), asus p6t deluxe v2, has very good pcie slot spacing for dual cards @ x16.

Both cards are housed in x16 slots, audio card in pcie slot above the topmost gpu. There is a 3rd pcie slot below the bottom gpu, but to utilise it, id have to mount my psu in the top of the case, i prefer to keep it in the bottom bay.

Nice, although i think i still want some sort of extra cooling for my gfx cards as they are to loud under load.

So the question still remains, what are others opinions on best motherboard for 1366(X58) cpu?

Criteria is min 3x x16 pci-e slots, and room to fit the cards with some room in between to alow for cooling. Would like a new style board that allows for use of sata3 and usb3, and allow fitting of my X58 core i7 920 DO chip, unless some one want to buy it so i can go down the i5 2500 route? lol
Also the board must be around the £200 mark, if not it would be more worth going the i5 2500 route as their boards are better priced for what you get imo
