Open windows resized when monitor switched back on again

Hi alll

I often leave my computer switched on, but switch the monitor off. When I return and turn the monitor back on again, whatever windows were open on the screen have been resized into the top left hand corner and have to be manually resized back to where I had originally left them.

Has anyone got any idea what might cause this to happen? I have a Radeon 5850 with Catalyst 11.6 installed.

What monitor is it?

It's a Dell U2410.

Does it have any model specific power saving options, or do you have any enabled in Windows?

Why not just put the moniter into standby that may sort ur problem.

Not to my knowledge. Just have the typical monitor going into standby after 10 mins dealy. However, this problem happens even if I switch the monitor off and straight back on again.

I'm thinking the problem has something to do with using the display port connection rather than DVI. I've switched back to DVI now.

They seem to have, yep. I wonder what is up with display port?

Could simply be defective. Have you got another monitor you could try with it?
