Ok, so I'm playing Team Fortress 2 and someone shouts out 'Herping the Derp'... does anyone have any idea what on earth that is supposed to mean? It's a new one on me! :confused:

Herp/Herping is a verb you can use to replace another verb if you don't have a specific verb you want to use. Derp is the same but it's a noun. It started being used in comics (afaik) to replace unimportant events to save the author from having to think of actual activities they were doing. For example, "I was at home herping the derp, when..."

You can also replace names of people with Derp/Derpina/Herpina when you don't want to say their actual name.
