Some guy is selling an N900 phone for 230 GBP. It's in excellent condition too, has no marks or scratches on it, plus the keyboard is excellent. Comes with the original box too (with unused earphones, and TV cable).

Is 230 worth it?

Thanks

The N900 is pretty rubbish really.

How come?

Its the best smartphone I've seen that allows you to really program it. Native Linux on a phone is bloody good. Plus, I've heard its has a fully multitask OS (pre-emptive) unlike the IPhone, and other smartphones.

I'll look into it more, as I wanna do some programming for it.

I absolutely love the phone, and really wish I didn't sell it, but there is no way on this earth I would pay that for it.

I bought mine in perfect condition mid last year for £175. There is no way it's worth that now, never mind more than that!

Programming as in apps? There are only a few hundred apps for the platform and only a handful of those are useful to the majority of people.

Because the amount of people using Maemo is very small therefore any apps he made wouldn't ever become that profitable.

If he meant programming the phone for Linux-based things then that makes more sense, thus why I was asking him a question :)

You should be able to get it for cheaper than that although their rarity might become a problem as time goes on and more get consigned to the draw / bin.

The Selling price for an N900 on ebay seems to be around £130 ;)

It's an ancient phone (in phone terms) with a dead operating system, why would you waste your money on the phone and time on apps no one is going to use.
