which media streamer will do full HD sound?

I'm on the hunt for a media streamer which will connect to my nas to stream video, pictures, online tv channels and sites etc but will do it while passing true HD sound.

it seems all the old favourites only do dts etc rather than HD audio?

I need to get one too for my brother - think the asus oplay might do it but not sure

Ac Ryan or Mede8er 1073DD+ and newer chipsets do DTS MA and DD TRUE HD.

Play!ON 2 / mini 2 definitely do. As Holwill said, the original later model Play!ON and mini will as well.

it seems the playon2 is getting mixed reviews. The AC Ryan forum has a view posts which say that the quality is great when you finally get to play a video but the GUI is a pain.

I have both a PlayOn mini V1(1073dd+) and a Mede8er 400x(1073dd+) and on both I run the mede8er firmware. The AC Ryan GUI2 is to much hassle to get to your movies if you stream.

that was my worry.....but, the mede8er seems a little behind the AC ryan in other areas?

How do you rate the pair of them?

EDIT: also. the 400x 'only' has a 100MB LAN adaptor vs the 1000mb of the AC ryan....does this make much difference with BR RIP's?
