Early morning guys,

My Dad has requested I find him a comfortable mouse that he can use for hours (6+) and will be ergonomically {insert something positive, etc} for his hand. No idea on budget he just wants to see what's available.

Any ideas :-D?

MX518, great mouse, but check what grip type your father uses, as the MX518 is better suited to people that use a palm grip.

I have the G5 which I believe is an identical casing (nigh on!) and it really is a workhorse!

Mine has now been worn through to the plastic on the finger clicking, and is still as good as the day it was bought.

The G5 is an awesome mouse, I use mine for 10+ hours every day and it's still going despite being a few years old.

The MX revolution is better for long term non-gaming use IMO.

More comfortable grip + more buttons + side scroll + hyperscroll main scroll.

Id agree with that....

apart from mine I have had for 2 years and has started to be a problem when recharging- if you search the internet there are loads of hits about MX revo not recharging.

that's why im now looking for a new mouse. but cant find one that will compare.

The MX Revolution is the comfiest mouse I've used, you could probably get one quite cheaply as there is a successor available.

Only issue is and I speak from owning one - it doesn't track very well on wood, get a pad.

the MX revolution is a comfy mouse and the MX1000 too, but if your the type of person who picks up the mouse and places it down before the next movement = everyone, IMO, then the mx518 has more pick-up-able chassis and is more reliable than both those bigger more expensive models.

518 the longer lasting more reliable & cheaper choice.
