Also tried using 3 different VPN's can't pull over 2.3meg/s from there, seems like they limit each thread to 20mbit

BT seem to be installing FTTC on my road. Noisy machine that is blowing cables thru their pavement ducting. Lots of strange markings and numbers spray painted onto the pavement and the green cabinet. Can hear a pneumatic drill going too.

Exchange listed as Q1 2012 for FTTC. Must be a lot of work involved.

Winning?

Talk talk (who I'm currently with) are now offering fibre optic using the BT network.

Does anyone have any experience with this? Do you know if they will also be offering the 80mb upgrade when it's available?

I believe this also comes with their homehub, which is rubbish right (wirelessly at least)?

I do use torrent programs (probably download around 40-80gb per month). Also only gaming (via x360 and psn). I'm on the unlimited package so should they be ok as far throttling etc is concerned?

You mean the BT homehub? If so my wireless experience has been great, altho I did come from a dg834

Not sure if talktalk throttle p2p, will only be during peaks hours if they do.

Thanks for the reply. They never have throttled p2p on my standard connection. I will ask them when switching over but I know that what they say and what they do is often very different.

Just been reading around abit, people say that they only throttle P2P when needed (which is rarely)

What speed do you currently get? what are you estimated on fibre?
