As above really. System is a budget system, but only a few weeks old.

Basic spec:-
Athlon II X2 @ 3ghz
Gigabyte Nforce m/board
4gb 1333mhz ram
500gb WD caviar hdd

Basically i keep getting intermittent blue screens. These can be 5 within 10minutes, or none whatsoever over 7 hours.
Usual message i get is "memory management"

But have had a couple of different ones. Is this likely to be a hardware fault? Its done it since ive first had the system.

Its running Windows 7 Ultimate. I have run Memtest for an hour or so, no errors reported.

Any help is appreciated as its a mega annoying problem when burning discs etc
Cheers

What is the make/model of the psu your using.

Was this a fresh install of the operating system.

Its an OCUK psu "500W"

Yeah the OS was installed onto a freshly formatted drive.

I thought maybe the psu was struggling?
Its got a Geforce GT430 graphics card in too.

In terms of power the psu is fine, but being a budget brand I am little concerned.

Try running Prime and Furmark and see how this gets on.

Cheers. I'll give Prime a go.

The psu was bundled with the system, so i assumed it was up to the job.

Ran Prime95 for around 7hours or so overnight. No errors/warnings, everything ok.

I then opened up my web browser and the system crashed with the same bsod,Lol.

Could it be a software problem?

Have you checked the memory using Memtest86+?

Have you turned off paging? Check this isn't the case.

What happens if you drop the OC back to stock settings?

How do i go about turning paging off?

The system is running at standard fsb/multiplier etc, it isnt overclocked.

I ran memtest for an hour or so, with no errors. Is it worth running it for longer?

No you want it on...

>Control Panel
>Click on the System icon
>Select the Advanced tab
>Under Performance, click Settings
>Click on Advanced tab
>Under Virtual Memory, click Change
>Select "System Managed Size" if not already selected and then click Set
> reboot

Any errors are more likely to show within the first pass..

Cheers for the replies.
