It's the sapphire model like this. Past few days while its been warm weather its been touching 99 degrees while in starcraft 2 lobby and would probably keep going up if i left it. Should i be worried? Fan spins up to about 7000 rpm which is quite loud but doesnt bother me as much as the hot air coming out the top of my case :p Only gets to 80 ingame which is fine i think.

That's about right, I had the same card & without setting up a custom fan profile it would idle at 80C, this was when it was new.
The card will probably be fine up to 120c.
Give it a good clean as well, mine used to get matted with dust.

I had a 4850 they are very very toasty cards but mainly because the stock cooler is horrendous but they are designed to run very hot so not a worry.

the stock coolers were quite badly designed.

if you getting bad temps take card out and check at side of coolers. they are prone to getting a bit of fluff dirt here and it causes a big temp rise as it blocks main exuast .

i used to use a cotton bud and a hoover :p the temp difference would be vast .

Just manually set the fan in CCC, the basic problem is ATI have a stupid fan profile which allows the card to get way to hot before it ramps up !

80c is really way to hot for electronics and plastics if you want to get long life from them, remember also a hot card is cooking everything around it in the case !
