DiRT3. I thought I'd bought the full game but the amount of DLC they want you to download and buy is now ridiculous. Even on the single player you are required to buy events. It feels like I've only bought half a game.
Is it possible to play this game without buying anything and should i just ignore all the DLC options because I'm quite tempted to uninstall .....

There aren't extra Singleplayer events?

All the DLC are more tracks and cars and the game has plenty of cars in it to begin with. If you could only have a Dirt2 amount of cars to begin with I could see your point but the game comes with something like 30 Rally cars, 8-10? Rallycross cars, 6 Trail Blazers, 4 Raid Trucks, 4 Gymkhana cars, Stock Buggies and Trucks

I played the game fine without buying anything

This tbh. Which events DLC do you mean?

There's a ton of content in the standard game. There's been one track pack, and that was only released a week ago or so.

you can happily just play through without dlcs. I got the free car pack and mcrae charity pack for 1.20 but that's it.
the extra courses etc do give you bonus events though by the looks of things. i just think that's quite cool as it extends the seasons if you want

The Gymkhana is really good though and adds something different to enjoy, love the free roaming round Battersea. There is plenty of Rally and similar.

There is a SP that's only aailable as DLC if you have the monaco pack, it's in the last triangle. As others have said, I don't need DLC to enjoy the game, it's still good

Gymkhana is good but could have been implemented better.
the gymkhana videos you see online are all in interesting and diverse places. perhaps a few gymkhana arenas similar to Battersea would have been better than these 'staged' Gymkhana arenas with the same 5 obstacles repeated over again.
the French autodrome from Gymkhana 3 for example?

there is plenty of rally and a nice variation of other events so gymkhana is a decent addition albeit not implemented well enough. obviously there is no WRC pc game so there is still nothing for the purists, but for what it is, I am glad they included Gymkhana.

in reference to the OP. I do understand where you are coming from, there is a lot of DLC available and it does come across as a lot of content missing/restricted. but the game has more than enough to do without the DLC. having played through the first half of the game, I can honestly say that I don't feel short changed by the content yet. I may feel differently once I have completed the game, who knows.

WRC 2011 is due out in October published by Ubisoft. WRC 2010 was released last year although it appears to have sunk without trace.

the wrc game from last year was diabolical. i played it on my ps3 and got rid straight away.

the fact that ubisoft are developing it means it will be prone to all the other ubisoft related rubbish.
they may as well make it GFWL whilst they are at it :p

I agree albert, its a complete rip of what codemasters have done, they pumped out half a game with the other half sitting ready to go on DLC, 30-40 quid for a game plus another 22 quid for the DLC's that should have been in the game in the first place.

Ubisoft are publishing, developer hasn't been announced although this late in the day you'd expect it to be the same one that developed 2010.
