Well to my surprise my mother-in-law has decided she wants a two seat soft top... and has made an offer on a S2000 !

I can't help thinking that this is the wrong car for her. She's 60ish, pootles around and IMO is not the best driver in the world.

This is the one she is looking at

Which I think is overpriced.

I'm saying to her a MX5 would be a much better alternative but she won't have it... I might have to borrow it at the weekend to thoroughly test it ;)

Is she mad to consider this car?

Cheers

60 year old woman in an S2000 - what an awesome lady. :D

But yeah, i have a feeling she either:

A) Is well aware of it's power and driving characteristics and is just feeling her age and wanting to do something crazy.

B) Likes the look of it and has no idea about the power etc.

Either way, good for her. I was in shock when my mum was looking at CLS AMG's (but quietly impressed she knew a bit about them!).

If she drives anything like most 60 year olds she won't get close to entering the VTEC range.

Good car to borrow every now and then though. :p

She'll like the colour most, then the flash wheels.

make sure she knows it's not a diesel and to not go to quick fit and ask 'what's the best tyres for my car please' - and she'll be fine

B...but the KwikFit man said my new Kenda KR20's are high performance tyres and basically as good as Eagle F1 Assymetic 2's :(

Looks in good nick from the pics. It's not THAT overpriced however. Tis a 2004 so glass rear screen and facelift interior/exterior changes.

She will be fine in it. It's idiots driving like numpties who go bye bye into hedges.
