So i've made a lot of new threads lately regarding crossfire and i have to say thanks to all those that answered my questions and helped sort out my problems.

However, after trying most of the latest titles that i own including Mafia 2, Crysis 2, Starcraft 2 they all have the same problem... Screen Flickering! almost as though the 2 cards are in sync properly.. I've tried with 1 crossfire bridge, changing bridges around, swapping the cards around all have made no difference. The only thing that does seem to have worked is rolling back the drivers to 10.8... i know right :S. It's fixed the flickering in all the games but i havent updated the application profiles yet as i'm not sure if i can use the new 11.6 app profiles with the older 10.8 drivers...

Does anyone know if it's purely driver issues or if theres another fix to this?

Btw i'm very happy with the crossfire setup and overall performance.

I always have Vsync enabled, it gets worse if i dont have it on during crossfire operation :S.

Okay crysis 2 is still not working in crossfire mode. The flickering has stopped however as soon as you see water, only the water flickers rapidly!! Sigh :(

mine is the same :( although i get tearing not flickering.
what exactly do you mean by flicker, is it like a light flashing, or the screen turning off and on really quickly?

Hi guys,

I'm running single 24" monitor (Iiyama E2407HDSD Prolite) connected to the first cards top DVI port. Everything works fine using a single card but with crossfire i get this flickering i.e. it goes bright then dark really really fast within a second and it's continuous. I'm gonna try 10.12 drivers as i read somewhere it's the best set for 5800 series crossfire.

Also this only seems to be happening on the latest titles of games, mainly directX 10 and 11 games!

Maybe something about your cards are mismatched - wrong clocks or something?

I am using CCC 11.5, and was having flickering with crysis 2, but that's a known problem with that game. The DX11 patch has solved that. No problems in other games, except for the occasional older games that don't support crossfire.

Hmm i thought a referrence card and non referrence card would be okay tbh... the DX11 patch for me has sort of solved it but i think this may have more to do with my copy of crysis 2 atm...

Make sure there is no clash with the on-board GPU.

And you are updating the South Bridge Drivers as well ?.

I think my onboard is switched off and my pcie is set to primary. I wasn't aware i needed to update my southbridge drivers and that the latest AMD package for the motherboard would include it?

I would but my cards are only worth say... £250-£300 max? If i was to go nvid i would go for a GTX580 and as we all know they aren't cheap! Also my board doesn't support SLI :(

I've updated to 10.12 drivers now and it's fixed the bug in Mafia 2 but still present in Crysis 2.

I forgot to add that since my board is a mATX board, the 2 pci-e lanes run at x8x8 speed when in crossfire.. could this have something to do with it? Would you recommend tweaking the freq for each lane?

Not yet, but i'm after raw horse power/future proofing for another 3 years/triple monitor setup soon.

The gtx 580 is a steal at that price!
