Job Interview :: Dress Code Advice

Wear a suit.

Do it every time you have an interview.

It gives a much better impression and shows that you're actually wanting the job.

First impressions are crucial.

If you don't, kiss the job good bye or hope no one else wears a suit.

It doesn't matter what the job is for, unless you have specific instructions (or happen to know without a shadow of a doubt that it won't matter) to not dress office-smart (i.e. smart-casual) wear a suit, or at the very least a shirt and tie minus the blazer.

If in doubt, ask them directly. Never take the chance.

ALWAYS ALWAYS wear a suit and DECENT shoes.

Dress smart. If you made an effort for the interview it show's you can make an effort in the job.

Don't ever try to be a wide boy either, and dress 'slick', dress smart.

I'd say it's one or the other, i don't like Jackets that much really.

Never wear just a waistcoat for an interview, it's a ridiculous look. Only time I'd wear a waistcoat without the jacket if it's to hot for the jacket as well.
Why don't you like jackets? I love them. Perhaps you've never got the right fit?

Oh this might be note worthy to your decisions.

Does it change anything?

Two people turn up to the interview. They both are great on paper, both interview very well and both would be an asset to the company. You can only hire one. One is in a suit and tie, and looks professional and presentable. The other has had a wash and put on some clean clothes but you wouldn't want him meeting clients. Who do you pick?
