Ebay fraud :(

Hi im after some advice.

My wife sold her ipad 2 on ebay yesterday, it was all paid for through paypal and she sent it out this afternoon recorded delivery next day before 1pm. We got home from work and theres a message from ebay about the transaction being fradulent, with the buyer no longer being a registered user, dont send etc etc but obviously we already had. we phoned royal mail and they cant stop the package being delivered saying it was againt the law. I obviously have the address in conventry and im contemplating driving over its about 2 and half hours away and waiting at the house and taking the package myself although im not sure if the delivery man would give it me and plus I dont want to get my ass kicked by the guy living at the address.

Any suggestions?
 
Can't you bring a friend, if nothing else he'll be a witness. Provide proof of postage and email from eBay stating the seller is fraudulent. Surely the thing is still your responsibility until the buyer signs.
 
Maybe try giving the sorting office/mail hub in Coventry a ring to see if they could stop it going out in the morning?

Did you check the paypal details and address were all verified? Was this a new user with no or very low feedback?

I would suggest you do actually drive to intercept the parcel.

Also you mean you send it out via Special Delivery (as you only say recorded) due to value of item and insurance? If not then did you sent this first class recorded as this won't be insured for its value?

Assuming all details were vchecked and correct and then this is a problem of eBay, if the OP didn't verify everything then this is not eBay's fault really.
 
Against the law to stop a package being delivered? Since when was RM policy statute? Since when was fraud not illegal? Terrible service.

So royal mail are now in the business of knowingly facilitating crime. You should have said that there was hazardous chemicals in it or something so they couldn't deliver it.

Whats the post code in Cov? I can provide a roughness area risk factor. Most of the students have gone back so it'll be someone residential letting the side down.
