I've reinstalled windows and consequently my nvidia drivers for my 580. Are the latest drivers ok does anyone know? I'm asking because I've had some problems, and a few lockups with error messages coming from the Nvidia Com object, so am contemplating downgrading.

Notoriously bad, should have gone ATI.
(All Im doing here is spouting the same nonsense that AMD have to live with. If you say the same things enough times and if people start to copy the same nonsense then you get a bad rep)

there is a post on the nvidia forums from nvidia that says the 275.33 have a performance drop in some games the drivers everyone seem to be suggesting are the 270.61..Nvidia said they will sort it out in the july drivers.I have a 580 and have not had a crash going back to to the 260.61.

Yep posted about it the other week, best decision i've made personally
Using 275.33 drivers, have had one or two lock ups as well, un-installed them, when into safemode used drivesweeper to clean any Nvidia remnants left, fingers crossed seem ok now, famous last words lol.
You don't need to do that anymore!
Just use " Custom Install " then tick " clean install " when using the nvidia setup, it overwrites all old files and leaves nothing from the previous ones. That's what i did and works a treat!.
Been using 275.50 without any issues with my GTX470s tho 1-2 people with 580s have seen performance drops in a couple of games. As above 270.61s seem to be the best atm if you do have problems - don't go back to any of the 270.xx lower than 61 tho as they have some minor issues in a couple of games. The next beta release are looking good tho.

Been running the 275.33 drivers since I fitted my 590 a week ago and haven't had any issues at all.
I'm using the latest drivers too, and I know there are issues with them. Settlers 7 has a flickering problem with borked textures, which results in the game crashing. Not actually sure if this is due to an error with the game that the new drivers highlighted (but it wouldn't surprise me) or just a simple incompatibility issue with the game. I haven't run any benchmarks, but things do seem to be slightly slower in games. Supreme commander 2 seems to run a little choppier than previously too.
I've not had any other problems in other games though.
