Girlfriend missed her flight, what can be done?

Right chaps. Today my girlfriend missed her flight to Cuba. Don't ask, very silly mistake. But it was our fault, nothing else. So. Is there anything we cab do. It was with virgin. Spoken to them. To re book will cost 150 and it seems a refund will get back around 200 probably on a £750 flight. Though there quite form online is bust. Fantastic.

Was wandering if any one has had any encounters with this before or any advice on the situation would be great. She's understandably a bit upset.

£150 rebook is cheap dude, take that option with both hands. They are within their right to keep all your money. Was it a package? see if you can notify the hotel too before you lose money with that also!

£150.. that's fantastic.. very lucky they will even refund you as well. Take the hit for £150, and speak to a rep and tell them the website is down.

I had to pay £250 to get back from Palma after I slept through my flight!

Cheers for the replies guys. Don't plan on arguing. Our fault. Not theirs. 150 re book seems pretty cheap to me and have suggested that. Out of interest with refunds does any have an experience? Man on the phone said the fare 454. Is completely non refundable. The things that would be are the taxes which are 261. Any experience on how much might be seen of this?

I'm a travel agent and have had many passengers missing flights. You're very lucky that Virgin have offered a rebook option so yeah, take it.

Rebook and eat it. I had to pay £172 when I missed my flight from Belfast to Nottingham (due to an RTA, so half my fault, half beyond my control).

BMIbaby, one of the worst airlines I've ever used. Unfortunately I had an exam the next day so had to get the later flight. Taught be a valuable lesson though and I never cut it remotely fine with flight timing now.
