Ok who sneeks in snacks to the pictures

Even though its only a couple of hours, I do like having something to munch on while watching the movie. Used to be really into the Ben & Jerrys counter. Now I prefer a mixed ice blast and either sweet popcorn or nachos. I used to sneak in food all the time, but I tend not to bother as much anymore. I know paying £8 for a drink and box of popcorn is ridiculous, but I cant be bothered to cart the stuff there from home.

Anyone else use the Odeon Premier card? I've gotten a few free cinema tickets using my reward points. Not worth spending them on the small drink/popcorn though.

Not only do you have to consider the film length, you must also take into account the rubbish adverts played and then the trailers deemed appropriate for the film you're about to watch. Oh, and the stupid FACT warning that tells you how bad it is if you attempt to set up a camera and tripod in the aisle and film everything.

All that normally adds on at least 20 minutes to any film.

My local cinema is so awful and under staffed, you could walk in without paying, with whatever you want tbh. Which is good because the food counter is normally closed anyway, because theres only 1 staff member in the whole building.

A bag of popcorn which costs ~£1 in Tesco is about £4 in the Vue cinema.

The markup is crazy. Personally, I've always done the 'hide everything in my bag' thing. If they asked to search me, I'd just refuse and demand a refund. That said, being that I'm in my mid-20s now, I think I may have got into the 'safe zone' for that sort of thing.

What you need to watch out for too are any restaurants that are situated on those complexes you often find cinemas on; they're stupidly expensive for what you get!

At the Liverpool One Odeon, they try to take food off you and won't let you in to the screen if you've got food that's visible,(for those who know this cinema, the really short security guard who is constantly in the power stance is particularly bad for it.) The last time it happened, they told us to "dispose" of the food so we ended up going outside and putting the food in to a backpack and girlfriend's bag, then coming back in.

I don't tend to go there very much any more, I prefer the Cineworld at the Edge Lane retail park.

Also, Bald-Eagle22 PLEASE stop putting spaces before your commas, question marks, exclamation marks and full stops, please! It's not how it's done. The space goes after the punctuation.

"£19.23. , Ffffffffff what ?"

is supposed to be:

"£19.23, Ffffffffff what?"

Early morning gramma Nazi ?

I used to nip into woolworths and stock up on food before going into the cinema. I never realised it wasn't allowed :p

but it is allowed... it was covered on a bbc program ages ago some of the staff members tried to stop an undercover bbc reporter from going in but the manager said the oposite and that the rule was onle meant to stop hot smelly food which is ironic considering most places sell hotdogs and jalapenos

I haven't been to the cinema in about 10 years, I watch stuff at home on my PC.

Cinema used to cost a fiver, and you could pick up a drink and sweets for under a fiver. Tenner all in was OK.

Rarely buy anything in the cinema, in fact don't go to the cinema anywhere near as much as I used to. For a start the price is insane and secondly lots of people including myself have a large tv at home with surround sound. Which is free, no annoying people and cheap food.

I will occasionally pay for outrages popcorn, but that's probably once every other year.

Wish we had a cineworld near us as it would be worth it, but it's the other side of town.

Are they allowed to do this or have I been owned .
I'm not sure if you're allowed to do it but no one's ever stopped me from doing it.

2x medium colas
1x packet of mars planets
1x mixed ice blast
1x medium popcorn

£19.23. , Ffffffffff what ?
1x bucket of KFC
1x 6 pack of Henieken

£15, better that anything available at the concessions stand.

My view exactly. Would much rather sit and watch a high quality Bluray on my big TV and 5.1 system on the comfort of my own couch with whatever takeaway I desire, without having to put up with annoying chavs on their phones, 30 minutes of adverts and trailers and not being able to hit "pause" if I want to go tot he toilet :p

I only ever go to the cinema if I really want to see something or if there is a benefit to see it on the big screen. This means I only go a few times in a year and I go to the cinema to watch the film not to eat.

Actually I'd happily pay a premium for a 'movie buffs' ticket where food and drink wasn't permitted and the doors close shortly before the main feature starts. If you aren't in your seat when the film starts you aren't getting in :p

my fiancee used to work in a cinema a few years ago but she said they are not allowed to check in bags but if they see you holding the snacks they can tell refuse you entry.

We usually go to the supermarket, get those buckets of pic n mix and spend about half an hour cramming as much in there as possible.

I've not been for years (one of the Star wars films) but even when I did go, I was amazed/annoyed by the selfish ****s who would talk/eat noisily/use their phone and generally **** about! Unfortunately, I'm the sort of old git who will stand up and ask the offenders to stfu, so, for my own well being, I decided not to go anymore.

IMO, anyone who takes KFC or pizza should be ashamed; a few sweeties and a drink is ok but come on, kfc!!
