I'm looking to upgrade my PC mainly for gaming. I'm not looking to change the monitor, m/kb setup. I already have the following components that I don't want to upgrade until later;

Asus Case
AMD 4850
Maxtor Diamondmax 250GB 7200rpm SATA150 16mb
BenQ DVD-RW drive
Edimax 802.11n Wireless PCI card

The rest of the specs I want to replace first:
6300 Core 2 Duo 1.87ghz
Corsair PC6400C4 4x1GB memory
MSI Motherboard I forget the name of but it won't overclock at all and it's a pain in the butt
Enermax Noisetaker 485 watt PSU

Basically the immediate above items (Processor, motherboard, RAM and PSU) are the ones I want to upgrade right away while still using the remaining components that I am sure would have no compatibility issues with the latest hardware.

I intend to game at 1680x1050 and sometimes 1280x720 if I fancy playing on the HDTV, so the video card upgrade will come later. The current processor is starting to show its age now.

Would greatly appreciate any input :)

Corsair XMS3 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (CMX4GX3M2A1600C9) £29.99

Total - £403.94 with your free shipping.

This is what I'd suggest, but it depends on the size of your case. Do you know what model it is?

I'm not exactly sure. Upon closer inspection my motherboard is an MSI 975x Platinum. I'm not sure if it's ATX or not, but I'd hazard a guess and say it is.

I uploaded a couple of images of the case and inside of it anyway, but I'm more sure than not that it's ATX form factor

This is a review of the PSU - http://www.hardwareheaven.com/revie...er-620w-power-supply-review-introduction.html - its much better than the OCZ 600W for just a few quid more.
