I think for the action genre eastern condors, operation scorpion,zu warriors from the magic moutain are some of the best ever..
Anyone any good recommendations for any classic kung-fu movies? Recently watched the Jackie Chan classics Dunken Master and Young Master and in the mood for some more. Definately liking the Jackie Chan stuff so anything with a few laughs thrown in would be good, I prefer subtitles to dubbing but if it's really well dubbed is ok.
seems there was a few hong kong legends dvd fans on here from the lists i saw![]()
Too many good martial art films to name, Bruce lee and Jackie Chan and jet li and Tony jaar rule the roost, actually just found out Tony jaar has left the temple from being a monk and has already been snapped up by a film company, there going to make Tom-Yum-Goong 2 aka The Protector 2, check out Protector 1 definatly one of his best films.
Chocolate 2 is also going to be made![]()
he's not actually been snapped up by another company tony jaa when he made ong bak 2 he thought he could do it all himself write, direct, produce etc and he got rid of the original writers and directors and needless to say the film flopped and so he went back with his tail between his legs and now he's back working with the same crew and that will be a lesson for him you cant do anything on your own. Also i dont believe bruce lee,jet li,jackie chan and tony jaa rule the roost in terms of popularity they do but i can reel off stars all day long who have that same skill level but never got or had the breaks.
I'd love to see some of the films properly at the cinema but Leicester is a bit far away for me just to see a film so unless I happen to be up that way for another reason I'm afraid I'll have to give it a miss.

Nice so its the same team, I dont know why he thought he could do everything himself and then he went and became a monk to find peace I guess!
Have you heard anything new from Shaw Brothers, I heard they were coming back ?
reminds me Five Deadly Venoms, The 36th Chamber of Shaolin and Eight Diagram Pole Fighter, think there was a prequel or sequel also Return to 36th chamber of shaolin but 1st was better.
I didnt think Ip man was very good, any of them. The action is ok, but just the actor Donnie Yuen or whatever his name is doesnt fit the character, he's like a guy that wears suits all the time and never gets dirty, and he's serious and totally bad ass. Its in no way believeable.
Strange, the entire Wing Chun community think he was perfect for him.
Its a great film and donnie did a perfect job and he's seriously underrated
