I've had my 3GS for a couple of years now via an O2 corp contract that has now finished, initially this worked out very cheap but now costs £20 a month and gives me nothing inclusive other than data.

Not looking to change the phone as yet until the iPhone 5 makes an appearance so can anyone recommend a PAYG or pay monthly deal (no fixed contract) thats cheaper and gives me more until then?

Cheers.

GiffGaff is great, work on o2 and for a £10 goody bag, you get 200mins, unlimited texts and unlimited data. and also free calls to other GiffGaff users.

What were you getting before? Giffgaff own, and run on 02. £10 gets you unlimited texts, unlimited data, 250mins (per month, no contract, also no tethering) and if I refer you, you get free credit after you activate and I do too!

Wow Giffgaff seems incredibly cheap/simple, whats the catch? :D

I'm guessing not but I don't suppose PAYG deals like that allow you to port your existing number?

For the iPhone to have a GiffGaff sim, need a sim-cutter to make a micro-sim, as giffgaff dont to their own micro-sims as of yet.

Google "How to giffgaff an iphone" an theres a thread on the giffgaff forums and they actually send you a pre-cut sim, provided by some of the forum users :) plus 5pound credit free when you register it :)

Thats the best way to do it tbh, ill grab a link when im on my pc next.

yes you can port your number, ask for our pak code as normal, and when registering you get the option to port it.

being on o2 i think the sim will work as it uses the same apns.

I use Asda PAYG uses the Vodaphone network, it works well for me as I seem to get a rubbish signal with o2/orange/etc. :(

The 3GS uses a full size sim no need to cut.

There are different APNs for Giff Gaff to the normal O2 ones, there is no roaming data allowed on them.

You don't need to unlock it as giffgaff uses the O2 network and any locked to O2 phone will accept a giffgaff SIM card.

The porting proccess on GiffGaff is refreshingly simple. To port in you fill out an online form and can have it done the next day. To port out you press a button the the website and they text your code to you straight away.

Orange sim only 1 month contract, Dolphin 20 (£20). 600 mins, 500mb, u/l texts.

Go through quidco for £20 cashback = free contract for a month.
