There is bound to be some kind of vBulletin plug in that will do it. Archive a thread after so many days inactive or what ever. But maybe since the forum version is ancient it might not be compatible.

I think there should be 2 limits for the MM.

1 ) to Buy
2 ) to sell (with this being significantly higher. To stop scammers etc.)

It would be easy to implement as well by allowing only people with a certain amount of posts to start a new thread.

This way there is still a large "market" to sell to which keeps the MM worth while and it also weeds out the scammers/spammers etc
