Asus rampage III Extreme

It is now official and the change is "Add Memory Recheck feature". This looks like a memory error message bypass on boot.

Anyway, saved profiles don’t work with 1301 so you will have to re-enter again. 1208 is stable for me and I’m leaving it at that.

Wow! Look's like only a handful updated their bios.

I have a question can i turn the pcie lane off to test my video cards, i'm trying to run trifire with a xfx be 5970 and a xfx 5870, i have problem with tessellation in dx11, it is fine in openGL, so just want to know if i can be lazy and not have to keep removing cards to test. Thanks in advance ;)

I believe that is what they are designed for. :)

Thought i would post this here instead of making a new thread.

Im trying to use slot 1 and 3 for my graphics cards and i just cant get the 3rd slot to work. I tried a single card in the 3rd slot to see if it would post and it doesnt. I tried another card in slot 3 and windows doesnt detect anything.

So im thinking maybe dead 3rd slot? And yes i do have the pci lane switches set to on and i do have both the extra 4 pins plugged in.

Thanks

Anyone else keeping their RIIIE + I7 CPU until death do you apart? :p

the leaked results of LGA 2011 performance are underwhelming, nothing like E8400 > I7 920 was.

And they are like completely worthless now when you can buy a new I5 2500k + Z68 mobo for around £300.

An I7 920 + RIIIE would struggle to sell for £250-300 second hand.

Im keeping mine as I got the black edition and its not worth selling

Ive got an opportunity to upgrade to an r3e, is it worth doing so over my current p6t dlx v2, im running sli gtx 470's, and slot spacing is pretty good on the current board.

It tempted me, but I cant shell out that much on a new mobo so soon, plus the performance increase on the new CPUs is underwhelming.

I7 920 @ 4.2 Ghz will still be good for several more years.

I couldn't resist and nabbed the one they had in stock today. :D

I just trying out a OC station on my REIII and not having much luck with it. I have tried the latest utilitiy drivers 1.03.18 for win7 64 but I get a driver error saying that this driver is not intended for this platform. I'm not able to communicate with the OCS to upgrade the Firmware thats if it's needed.

Can anyone offer any help with this and do I need to alter anything in the bios for the OCS to work as well?
