I thought it was funny

EA has been throwing trash-talk punches throughout the development of Battlefield 3, however now they've taken the fight right to the digital doorstep of their enemy, purchasing a domain named after Activision's upcoming shooter.

By navigating to ModernWarfare3.com, users are then re-directed to the official website for Battlefield 3 covered in advertisements to pre-order the game on Origin.

Whilst it's a smart move and sure to garner a number of sales for EA, it also wouldn't take Activision much to have the domain handed over on legal grounds.

no hotlinking

I think it's quite funny, hopefully it will get a bit more interest towards BF from the MW crowd.

I'm still going to get both, but I'm converting from MW to BF and think others should give it a bash too.

How do you know, as far as i know godaddy are just a hosting company.
I am reasonably sure that we've stuff registered through them.
EA trolololol could have done the same quietly, but even so, its EA, anything they do involves evil and ruin for others.

Check how long the domain's been up. Besides, it was reported as a source of spam before that...seems unlikely that EA suddenly decided to use it now.
