I've forgotten my PSN password :(

I changed it after it came back online in May, thankfully because I auto sign in I can still play. But I can't change any details, mainly the payment details associated with my account.

So I've tried to go online to the PSN website and choosing "forgot password" at the login screen, no joy! It has been telling me for a week now that the site is "down for maintenance" WTF?

I can't find any way of contacting them either.... so, suggestions anyone?

No suggestions, but this happened to my brother as well. He also thought he got away with it as it automatically signs him in. At that time though, there was an error message that appeared for everyone, and after the update to fix it it cleared his sign in details, resulting in him having to create a new account.

He also tried to use the 'forgot password' option but it didn't work.

Better get remembering it.

I was pretty certain of it, but can't seem to get it right. Is there no helpline or contact email address I can use?

Tried choosing 'forgot password' on the XMB instead of on the website? The only problem is you'd have to sign out first though.

nope not tried that - if I sign out I might not ever be able to sign in again

Could someone test this for me and tell me what happens? Do they send you an email with instructions etc?

Yep, it will send you an email after you've put in your email address and date of birth. I received it instantly, put in security captcha code thing and then I'm able to change it immediately.
