Torchwood - Dr Who Spin off

Wow I didn't reliase BBC (Tax payer funded part) decided no longer to do torchwood. Good for BBC Worldwide and Starz to pick it up. Probably sold very well on DVD/Blu-ray to be worth it.

Please do not post links, comments or hint about programmes that have yet to be aired in the UK. Repeat offenders will be suspended and the thread locked.

We would also ask members to report such abuse via the RTM system (I know some of you have - thank you) or to contact a moderator directly rather than posting in the thread.

Thanks

Why can we not comment on a program just because its not been aired in the UK? Some of the members of the forum are actually from the US i think so they will have seen it already.

If its people talking about watching pirate copies then fair enough.

Ive not seen it yet (waiting till 14th) but i can still tell you everything thats going to happen its plastered all over wiki because its already been aired on starz.

1.51 million views for the first episode.... Do you think BBC will get more viewers?

Somewhere in the distant past a moderator thought Men In Black would knock on the OCUK door if people talked about non aired programs and it's been carried on ever since.
I've never seen a court case/incident where a TV company have tried to stop their weekly programs being shared around.
T'is a daft rule.

I thought it was because people who watch it legitimately don't particularly want to be punished by getting spoilers or not being able to discuss it at all.

Bascially it's a bit of both.

We were getting thoroughly ticked off with the constant "my auntie in America sent me the vhs of it", and the "I watched it whilst in the states last night;)" type stuff.

We don't see the point in having one rule for warez in software and games, and not enforcing it when it comes to the rest of the forum.

There is also the fact that some people just love posting spoilers in the thread, when the bulk of the community won't have seen it legally yet.
Hence as a general rule, if it's not out here yet you're not allowed to discuss spoilers of it too much.

You can talk about the programme in general "I hear it's got X from Y in it", but not really "wasn't it frabuliciously awesome the way that X got killed by Y with that funky dowhatsit".

Okay thanks for clearing it all up :D

So am i allowed to say from what ive read that it seems to be a lot more of a post-watershed series now. No more bbc fairyland stuff. a lot darker and grusome.

Yeah, first time I've ever really sat down and watched Torchwood, thought it was good, plus the helocopter scene was pretty decent.

Did anyone else think part of that chase looked a bit CGI? I can't see it being so but it really did look odd when the Land Rover was speeding away!

I really enjoyed it but the extradition at the end was a bit stupid IMO, same with Jack being mortal again, although I guess they decided they couldn't have an immortal on the show as it would take away some of the tension in the first few episodes (if he gets it back).

Why is it stupid? It looks like it's something to do with everyone else being immortal, making him now mortal.
