EA Trolls Modern Warfare 3

People really do love to hate EA, everyone loves to do whatever the cool thing is.

EADM was better than Steam, no idea about Origins, probably going the same always connected, won't leave you alone, in your face steam way.

Anyway if EA did this, its hilarious, if a fanboy did this, its hilarious. I don't care who did it, I'm finding it pretty funny. THough I actually hope MW3 is good, the non infinity ward "inbetween" games have been shockingly poor, MW1 was awesome, MW2 was a bit meh, I'm willing to give MW3 a chance. BF3 looks pretty awesome though.

Why does everything have to be so serious, its a joke and a pretty good one.

I've never got this "I hate this game, I love this game" before ANYONE has even played it let alone before the release. if it sucks, it sucks, then say it sucks, if its great, say so, before you know, calm the hell down.

Yay.
I completely agree with this, even if it was EA, I would take it as a light-hearted crack at MW3 and be glad someone there seemed to have a sense of humour.

Quite funny this tbh. Regarding origin, ive found it to be very unobtrusive, unlike steam with it's endless pop ups. Ill probably end up buying both games, mw1 was excellent, mw2 ok'ish, however i was very dissapointed with black ops. I currently play a lot of bfbc2, and you cant really compare it to a cod game, theyre quite different in how theyre played, the emphasis on squad/teamplay in bc2 and the use of vehicles sets them apart.

Jesus, you noobs need to calm down.

ModernWarfare3.com isnt made by the Modern Warfare game they are not linked at all.

Its just someone has brought the domain name "ModernWarfare3.com" and linked it to the Battlefield site. Why is EVERYONE getting a b*ner over this so much? anyone could do it.

lol, I really hate it when people post what I'm about to but it really applies here.

So much fail in that post, no one, I mean no one here thinks the site is made by the guys behind modern warfare...... THATS THE POINT.

Well this is the point really, I used EADM and I have a bunch of games, and I play some of them fairly often, yet I haven't opened EADM for 6-8 weeks......

When I play a game I got or have on steam, I see steam every time I play. Thats the fundamental reason why I prefered EADM, running a game had nothing to do with running EADM. I haven't even upgraded or installed Origin yet, I'm hoping they retain the separated program from running games thing but, I really don't know. As of yet I've not had to find out.

Yep, i have a few games purchased through origin, bf2 and moh 2010, i like how you dont even have to have origin running to play them, also the ability to add your retail disk cd key is handy, (as ive done with bfbc2). Also, the option to save your installers to a location of your choice, very useful for future reinstalls, as opposed to backing up your entire steam folder.

lol. Well done on making yourself look really stupid.

You can just as easily back up the single folders for steam games.

baffles me that people are claiming 'desperation' about bf3??? COD is the same tripe churned out with different maps/models...at least bf3 is a decent game lol

it doesn't need to be desperate at all lol (that said I still play both, just prefer bf :))

I 'upgraded' to Origin and having been direct launching Dragon Age Origins - don't even need to go via the normal game launcher, I just pinned daorigins.exe to the taskbar and disabled startup movies, it loads up in about 5 seconds.

Origin is almost identical to EADM, it's basically just a rebrand and shift a load of directories around so I had to faff about moving some installers to get it to detect them.
Less bloated than Steam but they have been adding more features like chat, friends, forcing you to have a 'profile' name etc, so you need to keep on you toes to make sure you have all that rubbish turned off and set to private etc.

One of these times I totally agree with DM.

Well said and I also find it pretty funny although I'm not desparate to make fun of MW3 since I'm still hoping it will be the first CoD since 4:MW to keep me interested.

Yup, I'm hoping whatever the heck the make up of the new Infinity Ward is that the old magic is there and we get another Cod 1/2/mw1 type game, if it sucks, it sucks, hopefully it won't. While its cool to knock the console kiddies who play COD, up to and including MW1(excluding the "others" games inbetween) the COD series was fantastic and probably the single most immersive FPS game around, bits like crossing the water in while planes were bombing around you and running into battle without a gun, sure, on the rails but still brilliant gaming.

MW2 was a bit meh, and the inbetween games sucked balls but I'd still rate COD the whole lot of games together in one pile as one of the best series of games out there, I hope its another good one, I'll know when I play it, not before.
