Oven cleaning

That Pyro Clean system looks impressive!!

Would be seriously tempted to whack it on while there was a big chicken in there or something... see if it turns the whole chicken to dust lol

Got this job to do this week, ergh! Usually just get some metal scraper device and get the muscles going!

The trick is to do an absolutely awful job of it so that the next time you pick up oven cleaning supplies and stare intimidatingly at the oven, she'll tsk, say "give it here" and then you're free to do other manly stuff like clean your ears with your car keys while standing behind her telling her she missed a spot.

Just a little rant about cleaning an oven. Bought some mr muscle and its getting a lot of gunk off but seems not to get the very last layer off. Also it does great on the shelves but can leave the last layer on and needs a scrub which according to mr muscle u shouldnt need to scrub at all just wipe.

:(

Need to buy a few more spray cans of the stuff if im gona finish it today and one of them oven brushes as some parts on the shelves where the joined bits are are causing a nightmare to remove with a scourer or brillo pad.

Just get a female to do it for you.

Asked me mum to help but she said nope things to do. :p

Probs gona get grief for being dirty and all but im hoping i wont get too much grief from showing u how the jobs going so far. lol. Least im cleaning it now eh. :D

Oven

Door glass

Shelves which are coming on nicely.

This is the 2nd coating using can 2 as first can ran out (ppl say u can get 2-3 cleans out of one can are liers lol). Will be doing the door last.

Left it a hour or so for first coating (bottom of the oven only) did ok but not the last layer. Then all of oven tho a lot of gunk came off still layers so this is 3rd coating. Probs need another one after but i hope not. Gona leave this on till 5pm so about 2 hrs or so.

In fact this is the best option.

for shelves my mrs always gets some throaway plastic bag things from the pound shop, you stick the shelves inside the bag add water and leave to soak , after an hour or whatever you rinse the shelfs and they look brand new

Yup that is what we use.

For the inside of the oven we use this.

Oven mate cleaner. Have used it as we sell it at work and it's fantastic. Paint it on, leave it 40mins, wipe it all off. Clean as anything.

The oven cost about £100-200 more than others in the range, but it was so worth it.

snip I want one. That sounds amazing. I always assumed for some reason it didn't work that well.

Does that mean you can also have a higher cooking themp than most ovens? Or is it still like 220c max?

For cooking it just goes up to 240 degrees.

I think that's for safety. When you enable Pyro Clean, it locks the oven and you have absolutely no way of getting into it until it has dropped back down to sub-200degree temperatures.

The oven window gets very hot, but hugely (you couldn't keep your finger pressed to it for more than a second or so).

how long do you think it would take to dispose of a human body if i cut her into chunks small enough to fit in the oven

She'd be fairly daft too. A lot of them over cleaners can burn the skin pretty bad. Long and old clothes for that kind of thing sadly.

Just wiped then washed out the 2nd coating, its getting there. Shelves are done, few tiny hard bits but i can live with that as there mainly the corners and there tough to get off grr.

3rd coat on now, should be final coat, the top might need another one after but sides and bottom and back are mostly done cept for the last layer, stainless steel scourer works well on this bit but i wana try to wipe it off cos i hate scrubbing.

Had hoped it would be one layer and done after a hour so fail on youtube vid i watched lol tho he wanted to scrub i dont maybe thats the difference lol.

Btw wasnt askin for a product cos i planned on using mr muscle for a full on chemical attack. But interesting to know what others use i suppose. Does no one else use mr muscle? How was it for u if u did use it?

Oh and with 3rd coating, i had to bring out can 3 as can 2 was more or less all used up.

Edit some pics of progress so far.

Final update for today, boy im shattered. Think i have done a good job so far. Final clean up tomorrow with maybe one more spray on the top and stubborn bits.

Now keep in mind it was gungy all over just touching any part and it was gunky (i know i feel terrible for getting it in that state) but a day of cleaning and its almost clean part from trouble areas. :)

Oh did the door, about an hour with the mr muscle on the dirty side and take it out and clean it on the side counter and rince in sink and came up really nice. Stainless steel scourer came in handy for it. Was worried i would need a glass scraper but glad i didnt.
