I've had enough of my woeful skt 939 setup

...for a fix to the SB and F3 issues if you do go down that route. The issues seems to have come to the forefront a lot more since the release of Z68 mobo's. I would recommend the 500GB+Win7 Bundles unless you definitely need the extra space immediately, it saves £20. Can always get a further HDD or an external one down the line if needed (especially with the free delivery). Maybe even a SDD if your budget could stretch then.

Looks good to me, not sure about the PSU though, I don't know enough about them to comment if it's reliable or not I'm afraid... the rest should be a solid enough SB rig and have the option to chuck another GTX 460 in down the line if it starts to bottleneck around the GPU.

Lepa are supposed to be a good brand I'M getting a differnt bronze 750w one in a few days.

As I've said, I don't know enough about PSU's so was looking for someone else to advise him on it. If it's reliable and has good solid feedback then no reason not to go for it. Everything else is spot on.

Could save a little and drop down to the 2500K, but the multi-threading 2600k is ideal for encoding and it will be getting used more going forward for games so if you can afford it, then stick with the 2600K.

EDIT: Slightly off topic but I wish I had your enthusiasm at your age Anuraj, I read posts often (and rarely comment) but your amount of input is very impressive and shows great knowledge so keep up the good work!

Thanks, I'm just very interested in computers so I found this forum thank to my cousin who took a course in computer science.

Old skool hardware fella, the old Intel P2 800mhz processors, old 32mb AGP graphics cards, sound blaster 16 bit sound cards and 40gb hard drives and Windows 98 - ROCK ON !! It's amazing how fast technology has gone. Was only 10 years ago I was building 10 a week of these old types of systems, then every month there'd be leaps and bounds of hardware changes, then I left system building and went in to support. Lost all contact with systems after that.

My current rig was a mish mash of guts from old old pcs and put it together in a AMD shuttle, the only thing I kept upgrading was the CPU. Until the point the board wouldn't take any more current stuff. Never had the money to upgrade since.

I bought a PS3 for casual gaming and blu ray movies. I've also gone from cdj dj mixing to software mixing and music production so this is the first upgrade I really need.

At 12 (now 25) I was happy that I could do full HTML web sites (over-using frames and the marquee tag) with some JavaScript, I had no idea about what was actually in the computer tower so it's quite refreshing to see.

Considering the way technology is right now it isn't that unusual. :)

It's not that he think I'm a noob.

lol, ah right, your very active and giving sound advice from what I've read which is what people are after... even if you are a noob in comparison to some of the old timers on here! you might occasionally miss an item or two on a spec but happens to the best of them.
