My contract is due to expire in the next 4-6 weeks, so I'm currently on the lookout for something to replace my Milestone v1.

I've seen the specs of the Milestone v3 which I was interested in, but it looks like the screen is actually poorer in quality (PenTile matrix) than the v1's

Plus the 512mb of ram isn't really ideal either I would have thought ?

So, is anyone aware of any other qwerty sliders in the pipeline ?

There might be a UK version of the HTC my touch 4g slide (Sensation with a qwerty)

You could get something with a different OS until then... (none BB style qwerty's are as popular as the NotW atm :-))

HTC 7 Pro (£220)
Palm Pre 2 (£130)

Milestone 3 isn't coming out over here. Leaving me completely stuck.

Probably going to get a Blackberry 9900 when it comes out. I mainly text and won't be driving in the next 3 years so I don't need satnav.

I'd prefer to stick with Android as my OS, so I'll keep an eye out for the Uk version of the My-Touch.

It's not ?

Might need to get used to a touchscreen qwerty instead then. I should probably try out thumb keyboard as well.

Maybe the thumb keyboard app + Samsung Hercules would mean I wouldn't miss a hardware keyboard.

If you heavily text (1000+ a month) and email a fair bit, I really still don't see a hardware keyboard as replaceable. Everyone says it's just as fast but I really don't believe it, and there is no way you can touch type on a touch screen!

I don't really text much at all tbh, but I do browse & reply on forums using my phone quite a bit.

I've never enjoyed touchscreen typing on my Milestone as I have big hands.

And it's certainly not as quick for me personally, no matter how long I've tried getting used to it. A bigger screen might help that though.

Won't know until I try it I suppose.

Robbo wipes his arse with a hundred pound notes, maybe he's getting the butler to try one out? ;) :D

I'm tempted to try one but I really don't think (as someone that does web browsing mainly) it's worth it.

Yeah, web browsing is a miles better with a 4 inch+ screen, a real shame as webOS is sooo damn good.
The Pre 2 is such a fun phone to use and it's true, the card gesture/multitasking UI really is better iOS/Android/WP7! Get it on compelling hardware HP!

My plan is to sell my HTC Desire S, and use my BB Bold 9000 until a decent touch qwerty Android phone is released.

Until then, all the phones I've tried have nothing on the Bold 9000.
