Why do people buy into apple BS?

I personally think that Apple devices are beautiful, the OS blows, their entire ethos of sucking their customers dry is downright dishonest and Steve Jobs is the antichrist but their hardware is pretty.

If I could have an iPad2 with Honeycomb on it it would be the bees leg joints but since Apple won't allow you to install anything other than what they say you can on it that blows that out of the water.

Apple are steadily corralling their users into their little managed and controlled world and are in the process being massively anti competitive in the process. Anyone that buys into it these days needs their heads examined if only for being prepared to throw their money away on things that you can buy the equivalent of at significantly lower prices.

Apple can lick my well groomed man hardware... and film it on their equally well designed attractive hardware...

This is true of all the phone manufacturers. When I used to be bothered about phones and specs I used to read up on mobile websites about the new latest greatest phones coming out soon in Asia which we would then get one or two years later. Clearly most manufacturers drip feed the latest innovations to the world.

I can remember and I pretty sure it was Sumsdung had a working phone in Asia with a 12 mp camera with optical zoom, large high res touch screen, live tv and the list went on and on. That was when Apple had only had the iphone 3 out and it would have have blown the iphone out of the water spec wise.

They all give us a little bit more every year tech wise. Just enough new features which makes us want to buy the latest phone and ditch the old one.

Apple are experts at this and is more noticable with them bringing a new model out every year but everybody else is guilty of it.

Personally I think a lot of people buy apple stuff cause they are stylish and it just works. I have had friends who have got iphone 4's purely without any research just because they know it will do a good job and they are not bothered if there is anything better out there.

I almost got an iphone 4 myself when my contract was due as even I fancied one.

However, they had only just come out by two weeks and the price difference on contract was just too much. I could have an HTC Desire HD for free or pay £180 to have the iphone 4. Since the HD desire was about £430 to buy sim free and the iphone 4 nearer £500 if seemed robbery to have to pay an extra £110 "Apple tax" just to get the iphone.

In order to sell to the masses (non-tech enthusiasts), the locked down approach is the ONLY one that is going to work effectively as clueless people will break things and dislike things that are remotely complicated.

What is wrong with the Apple world anyway? You have fantastic media (films/music/tv/books) available and the best app store by a country mile.

You make it sound as if they are being hard done by :p

It's not a MacPro though... which means it's no good to someone that wants one.
 
Your pictures have been post-processed. Post the raw file. And doesn't look like you are even using the SGT from your shadow....
 
apple products are a damn fashion accessory and many of the owners become fan boys and can't see anything good in other products..

A lot of people only know of apple and don't know what Android is. Your typical iphone girl probably did not look at other options carefully, it's quite shameful that people treat their money like this even when they can't afford to.

You would not just buy the first tv you see so I don't understand how people can do it with other technology. I am avoiding these new fangled smart phones as I don't contact anyone, I already have devices that can do similar things such as a ds with homebrew or archos 605 jailbroken. In all fairness, if I wanted a device to play with I would probably get one of the high end archos devices as the screens are superb from my experience, this archos 605 with a decent h264 profile even only at 720 by 480 looks mindblowing.

I can't but I can show you a massively cheaper laptop, a massively cheaper desktop, a massively cheaper cell phone all of which are all more powerful and don't actually require a media store and don't lock you into an app store... will that do?

The iPhone 4 does 'come close' to that anyway, and yes they have been post processed.

That kind of person would NEVER get on with an Android phone. The iPhone is the best option for people like that.

I bet the majority of people do buy a random tv that they see in a store. They don't do much comparison with online ratings or forum users opinions being considered.

What you are failing to realise is that fanboys are not the highest percentage of purchasers, they might be the most vocal, but that is all they are.

No, because I still can't get media Other than iTunes Or zune(which is still locked to windows only} and I want a tablet format.
I already have a desktop.
