Why do people buy into apple BS?

Three groups of people
1. People buy apple products blindly, because its apple
2. People refuse to buy apple products, because its apple
3. Neutrals buy products they want/need, regardless of who makes the product

Threads like this tend to have tons of group 2, and a splash of 1 and 3.
So threads like this never work..

LOL - I actually think the OP's question is pretty fair... there are a few questions as to how the entire Apple 'ethos' has developed and to why they are treated in a different manner not the least here where we have a 'Mobile Phone' section and the iPhone somehow has been segregated into the Apple section... it's like anyone else is not good enough and should move to the back of the bus in the 'other' section...

I don't care if someone buys a Galaxy / Blackberry or whatever, so why do people care that some of us choose to buy an iPhone / iPad? It works for me - both products do everything I need of them and integrate with each other and my iMac beautifully. Thats all I care about - I've outgrown having to have the biggest mega pixels or fastest processor - having stuff that just works and integrates as simply as possible so I can concentrate my time on other stuff is far more important these days.

You enjoy your gadgets though

If a recall, the dons asked if the Iphone stuff should be integrated into the Mobile forum and the regular's there (ie: the Android guys) voted to keep it separate ...

That is because the mobile phone forum is mostly Android phone owners.

I'd rather iPhone stuff was in there but this thread is a good example of why it probably isn't a good idea.

I wouldn't dream of asking an iPhone question in the mobiles forum, because I know the rabid anti-Apple crowd would tear me to pieces.

I'm not jealous of anything...There isn't an apple product out that can out perform any other phone or PC currently.

Also, slower tech? The response time of the screens, on everything except the latest Android phones, is frankly crap in comparison to iOS products. Terrible response time from apparently superior products.... how rubbish.

Not read the thread, way too long

But the reason a lot of people buy it is purely for simplicity...Buy the IPhone, use it, it works fine for practically everyone, easy store to buy / download things from (A lot of people already have apple ID's for instance) two button photo taking / video. Done really. And the camera isn't that shoddy for a point and click.

Can I ask, is your Samsung stock? Or have you added a new ROM to it for instance?

With regards to the iPad, same thing really, it works, and to be honest i've not experienced many issues with the lack of flash...No idea why they don't have it as i'm not an apple / mac / osx guru or whatever. And you can watch most things on line really with apps, so meh.

for the record, I don't own an iPad, I do however have an iPhone 3GS, work provided mind you.

Thats because the people who like to play around with their phones pretty much all have Android as its easier to do things with. That is why the mobile forum is full of Android users.

Re: 1080p, its only recently over half the UK upgraded to HD TV sets, most of these dont even do 1080p. Not to mention the benefits of 1080p vs 720p on a phone screen, surely, must be non existant.

I was around for that but it was more that it was segregated from the start. In actuality most of the "should I get an iPhone or an Android Phone" type threads generally end up with some pretty decent responses. They don't degrade into a slagging match at all. Unless of course someone deliberately comes in with a chip on the shoulder at which point it goes to "well you go get an iPhone then..."

It's hard to have love for it when it's so segregated and, at the risk of rubbing some people up the wrong way, somewhat elitist...

Rubbish. It was moved because of Android users trashing iPhone threads and causing them all to descend into arguments.

I absolutely can't believe the powers here even considered moving iPhone stuff back to the MP forum. It'd need massive smacktard fumigation before the idea can even be remotely considered properly.
